Thomas E. Woody Obituary

Thomas E. Woody, 63, died suddenly November 9th, 2017, from a head injury sustained in a fall. 

"Woody" was born in Des Moines, Iowa, September 24, 1954. He was a proud alumnus of Urbandale High School, the class of 1972.

Woody was a concrete contractor most of his career. He also became an avocado farmer in California, a rancher in Montana, and finally returned to Alabama where he dealt in real estate.

Woody loved traveling in his RV with the love of his life, Barbie. Woody never knew a stranger. His passion was people. He lived life large, with a big winsome personality that was hard to resist. He developed strong beliefs and lived by them. He spoke his opinion, would defend a friendship ferociously, and was always certain to brighten up your day. Truth. Justice. Fairness. These were important ideals he esteemed, and the standards with which he strove to live his life.

Woody is survived by his wife Barbie, with whom he was happily married to for over 25 years, a number of family members, and scores of friends and acquaintances. 

A Celebration of Woody's life will be held on Saturday December 9th, 2017 from 1-4 P.M. at the Urbandale Golf and Country Club.
