Charlotte K. Silvey (Sweet) - Class Of 1962

Charlotte Silvey  Charlotte Kaye Silvey of Commerce City, Colorado, passed away on October 25, 2020, at Advanced Health Care of Aurora at the age of 76 after a shot battle with leukemia.
Charlotte, the oldest of three children, was born on February 27, 1944, In Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles and Betty Silvey. After graduating from Urbandale High School in 1962, Charlotte studied at Northwest Missouri State College at Maryville. In 1971, Charlotte met Delvin V. Sweet; the couple soon became a dynamic duo. With Del came two boys that Charlotte quickly fell in love with and helped raise. Charlotte also worked for Mountain Bell and retired in 1994 after 30 years of service.
Creativity flowed through Charlotte's veins. She loved bright and bold colors. She was a skilled seamstress and made many of her clothes and Halloween costumes. As a retiree, Charlotte spent many an afternoon scrapbooking and creating handmade greeting cards for her friends and family.
Charlotte had an adventuring spirit. She enjoyed traveling, visiting museums, and shopping. Before retirement, Charlotte spent summers with her family camping and boating and winters ice jeeping in the Rocky Mountains. In retirement, Charlotte and Del were snowbirds chasing the warm weather to destinations like the Baja Peninsula, Puerto Vallarta, South Padre, and Alamo, Texas, making friends along the way.
Charlotte is survived by two sons, Keith Sweet (Victoria) and Kevin Sweet (Karen),
two granddaughters, Kristen Sweet-McFarling (Bobby McFarling) and Dr. Kelsey Sweet, D.C. (Mark Guttropf), a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Guttropf, mother, Betty Silvey, two brothers, Gary Silvey and Steve Silvey, and many nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death b her father, Charles Silvey, Charles Silvey, and her husband, Del Sweet.
Charlotte was and always will be a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. The loss of Charlotte's vivacious personality and sense of humour are deeply mourned by those who knew her.
