Leigh Ann Davis (Dotson) - Class Of 1975

Leigh Ann Dotson ObituaryUrbandale - Leigh Ann Davis Dotson, 61 passed away Saturday June 16, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was at home surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully slipped away.

Leigh Ann was born December 9, 1956. She lived most of her life in Urbandale and graduated from Urbandale High School in 1974. Following graduation, she attended AIB where she developed an interest in public accounting. Over the next few years she worked in several CPA firms, handling client accounts and assisting senior partners. She left her last job as an office manager to go into business with her husband Larry to own and operate several franchises in the DM area, for the next 30 years.

Her two passions away from work were her love of gardening, where she could turn an ordinary piece of landscaping into a panorama of colorful flowers for everyone to enjoy.

Her second passion was her love and caring for animals. Especially her 3 golden retrievers and 1 lab mix. She would spend hours playing with them, and simply visiting with other animal lovers like herself. She was truly a special lady.

Leigh Ann was preceded in death by her sister Barbra Davis and mother in law Jane Wissink. She is survived by her loving husband Larry; her parents Gary and Marge Davis; brothers Jim and Robert Davis (Diane); sister in laws Kay Lemke (Craig), Cheryl Inman; brother in law Keith Dotson (Jennifer); father in law Robert Dotson (Diane) and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Behrens, his staff and Hospice of Central Iowa for the love and care they had given Leigh Ann in dealing with this terrible disease. We will be forever grateful. In honoring Leigh Ann's wishes, there will be no services. Leigh Ann often mentioned she wished more people could find love and care in their hearts and help provide financial support to the ARL of Des Moines and the Golden Retriever Rescue of Central Iowa to assist them in the wonderful work they do.

Rest in Peace Sunshine.
