Dorothy "Dottie" Ann Brackett was born September 28th, 1954 in Jacksonville, Illinois as the fifth of seven children to Albion D. Jr. and Helen (Wolfert) Brackett. She spent her childhood in Urbandale, Iowa then later moved to St. Louis, Missouri.
Dottie spent her entire career in the office supply industry. Von Brocken, Corporate Express, then Pedro's Planet until she retired in 2016. While Dottie enjoyed her time working her friends and family were her true passions in life.
She was the devoted mother to Kellie and her son-in-law Lawrence Stevenson, faithful wife of 32 years to Scott Young and a loving grandma to Kendall Stevenson - truly one of her biggest joys in life.
Dottie loved the outdoors whether that involved hiking, fishing or tending to her beautiful garden. She loved arts and crafts, was a skilled seamstress and was the world's best bargain hunter! Over the years she and Scott traveled the world together all the way from Fiji to Austria! However, in typical humble Dottie fashion, her favorite trip of all was a fantastic fishing day of non-stop catches in New Orleans.
Dottie was and continues to be loved by all and exemplified the best of what it means to be a true friend. She approached life with grace and humility and was quick to make others around her feel special with her acts of selfless love. She was a generous soul, eternally positive, forever grateful and had more energy than most! Any time spent with her always left you wanting more, and we are forever thankful for the time we had together. She will be greatly missed, and her shoes are impossible to fill much like the space she leaves in our hearts.
